MW3: New Information on Prestige Shop and Double XP

The Modern Warfare 3 Facebook page has uploaded a new behind the scenes video to promote Modern Warfare 3 in the run-up to the game's fast-approaching release
In the video Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert "Fourzerotwo" Bowling talks about the Prestige Shop. While the Prestige Shop was first announced and shown at Call of Duty XP, very few details have been declassified.
Here's a list of options available in the Prestige Shop:

• Extra Custom Class - An Extra Custom Class
• Double XP - Double XP for two hours in-game
• Double Weapon XP - Double XP for ranking up your weapon
• Regular Package - Exclusive Callsign Titles and Emblems
• Unlock Gear - Choose one item (weapon, equipment, perk etc.) to unlock permanently and carry over into all future prestiges
• Hardened Package - (Unknown - possibly includes challenges)
• Veteran Package - (Unknown - possibly includes challenges)
• Reset All Stats - Enables you to start over and do it all again from the beginning

The options are slightly different compared to what was revealed at Call of Duty XP, with Challenges and Titles and Emblems no longer appearing as their own option.
There are 10 Prestiges in total in Modern Warfare 3 and one Prestige Token is received for each Prestige. If you've Prestiged in previous Call of Duty titles, then you will start off with one token for each game you've Prestiged in. For example, if you've Prestiged at least once in both Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops then you will automatically get two Prestige Tokens on top of the possible 10 available in Modern Warfare 3. Bare in mind that you earn a Token for each Prestige in Modern Warfare 3, but you only earn one Token per game for previous titles that you have Prestiged in. So for example, if you're 10th Prestige in Modern Warfare 2 then you will still only automatically receive one Token.

Disappointed that you haven't Prestiged in the previous games yet? For the first time ever, Double XP will be turned on for all Call of Duty games on the October 27th weekend, giving you the perfect chance to Prestige at least once and receive a Modern Warfare 3 Prestige Token in return. However, in order to make use of the free Prestige Token promotion, you will need to use the account that you've used to Prestige in previous titles, otherwise the game won't recognize that you've Prestiged before Modern Warfare 3.

In other big news, stay tuned later today for the Modern Warfare 3 launch trailer! The trailer is set to arrive today despite the game not launching until over two weeks. So far the game has (thankfully) not leaked and according to Bowling on Twitter, only the developers are currently playing the game and they have total control over the leaderboards, meaning no one can rank without being allowed so there shouldn't be any concerns of unfairness advantage on the leaderboards like previous years.

According to Xbox Social Marketing Manager Graeme "AceyBongos" Boyd on Twitter, invites for a UK launch event on Monday, 7th November are being sent out. If the event is like Black Ops' UK launch event last year, we're in for a treat. Chances are it will be aired live online, so we can probably expect to see lots of tournaments, celebrity attendees, exclusive gameplay, various trips to stores hosting midnight releases, an intense countdown to midnight and more.
