MW3: Possible Campaign Extension DLC & Bigger MP Maps Coming
From Charlieintel.com:
Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling was interviewed by the Official UK Xbox Magazine in this months newest issue and was talking about what they are doing currently for the MW3 Content Season.
“The goal with these content drops is to do things we’ve never done before, really expand our horizons and our opportunities of what we consider DLC, because traditionally we’ve just done multiplayer maps,” Bowling commented in an interview you’ll read in issue 83, on shelves very shortly. He continued, “So that’s what we are looking at, how we can take different perspectives on different [campaign] missions, give more context to a mission by showing you pretext before it or after it. We’re exploring everything. I can’t give you a specific schedule on it, but that’s the logic behind it.”
Robert also commented on how MW3 maps were smaller and stated, “Since people have been enjoying putting hundreds of hours into the smaller maps, now as we’re moving forward we are looking towards expanding that out, giving you bigger, more sniper-friendly maps with longer sightlines, so that’s what the content drops are going to be focused on – doing something you’re not already doing in Modern Warfare 3.”
In regards to the original map offerings he said, “I think it has been successful in focusing what we wanted – very intense, fast-paced firefights, always keeping you in the fight – but we are looking to expand it, because you always want variety, you always want something different to what you’ve been experiencing.”

MW3: DLC Release Schedule from Activision with new video from Robert Bowling
From Activision:
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Modern Warfare® 3 blazes into 2012 with the debut of all-new multiplayer maps Liberation and Piazza, the front line of the Modern Warfare® 3 Content Season for Call of Duty® Elite, nine consecutive months of epic downloadable content that commences January 24th for Xbox Live users. Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: ATVI), revealed today that the content will be available first for Call of Duty® Elite's premium members on Xbox LIVE, followed by additional platforms at a later time. From January through September, Call of Duty Elite premium members on Xbox LIVE will receive regular updates of all new content totaling at least 20 content drops.
The Modern Warfare 3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite will include a broader variety than ever, with brand new multiplayer maps, Special Ops Missions, new game modes and more. While Call of Duty Elite premium subscribers get the new content first, as promised, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 fans who want to buy the content a la carte as they have in the past, will be able to purchase the content via Modern Warfare 3 Content Collections.
"The mammoth launch of Modern Warfare 3 and the breakout success of Call of Duty Elite were just the beginning. Call of Duty Elite provides an ‛always-on' connection to our fanbase, and the MW3 Content Season is the ultimate way to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the Call of Duty community and provide tremendous value to Call of Duty Elite premium members," said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. "With the Call of Duty®: MW3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite we are delivering on our promise of more new content, more often, and with more variety than ever. With three studios collaborating on the first season, the breadth and depth of material on tap is truly extraordinary. It's rare you can successfully execute both quantity and quality, but thanks to the expertise of our developers, the reach of Call of Duty Elite and the passion of our fans, we intend to deliver."
All content drops for Call of Duty Elite premium members will occur once a month, starting in January for Xbox Live users and will continue through the year, ending in September. During the first three months of 2012, Activision will release five different content drops on three occasions in January, February and March, first on Xbox Live, followed by additional platforms at a later time.
The first two Content Drops will be multiplayer maps—also playable in Modern Warfare 3 Survival Mode—that throw combatants into a war-torn Central Park and an Italian seaside village. Liberation is a vast, militarized landscape, ripe for long-range sniper and LMG fire, with mounted turrets on either end that lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower. Piazza is the idyllic Italian getaway that is anything but, where tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates in Piazza, where attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat.
The third Content Drop will be available for download in mid-February and two additional Content Drops will go live in March, as premium Call of Duty Elite members will receive new content once a month through September. Also in March, the first Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection will be available for purchase by the entire Call of Duty: MW3 player community on Xbox Live.
To celebrate the launch of each new content drop, Call of Duty Elite will run specialized events for real-world prizes throughout the nine-month Season. Additional details about the Modern Warfare 3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite and Collection series will be announced throughout the year.
The Modern Warfare 3 Content Season is co-developed by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software.

MW3: First DLC Coming January 24th For XBOX COD Elite Members Only
From DW24/7:
The first piece of downloadable content for Modern Warfare 3 finally has a date...
The game has been out for a month and a half and as expected the attention has started to focus on what will be offered post-release as DLC (downloadable content).
First of all, let's recap what we know so far about Modern Warfare 3's downloadable content. There will be 20 lots which will dispatch monthly during a 9-month period. Premium members of Call of Duty Elite will get DLC earlier than everyone else and they will still be released first on Xbox 360 before Playstation 3 and PC users get their hands on them. New maps will be playable in both Multiplayer and Spec Ops Survival, and maps won't be the only offerings. If you're a Call of Duty Elite Premium member then not only will you be the first to try the DLC out, but you'll receive it automatically and for free.
Today some new details have arrived, included a release date for the first DLC. In an interview on Call of Duty Elite TV's Roll Call show, host Jay Frechette visited Infinity Ward for a sneak peek at the upcoming DLC and grabbed an exclusive interview with creative strategist Robert 'fourzerotwo' Bowling.
In the interview Bowling announced that the first DLC will be released on Tuesday, 24th January 2012 for Xbox 360 Call of Duty Elite Premium members. What will be included isn't yet known, but he did say that for the whole DLC cycle they are doing things they've "never done before" instead of just maps, before using Spec Ops missions as an example. Bowling highlighted the three teams of Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software working together as proof of allowing them to do new ways of how the DLC drops or the content that is included.

Another Rumor/Leak for MW3′s First DLC Pack
From charlieintel.com:
Another day, another MW3 rumor.. This time it comes from ModernPrestige.com via Kotaku. We’re very skeptical however we thought it was only fair to bring you the latest MW3 news that hit the web today. Screenshots look real but theres no telling if this is a hacked lobby or even just temporary names for the maps. Here they are:
Leaked Map Names:
-Morning Wood
-Concrete
-Park
-Italy
-Overwatch
Kotaku bring’s up a good point regarding the supposed map names, “Morning Wood”.. really?!?! And “Overwatch” which was also a map name in Modern Warfare 2′s Spec-Ops. We’re expecting an announcement regarding DLC next month so stay tuned!
