Battlefield 3 Limited Edition details revealed!

Battlefield-3-D-EA-600x250

In what has become an increasingly common trend by EA, gamers who preorder Battlefield 3 will be automatically upgraded to a “limited edition” of the game full of in-game goodies (like anyone in their right mind needed extra incentives to buy this on release day). By preordering the game at select retailers, players can expect redeemable codes for:
  • Back to Karkand expansion: four multiplayer maps from Battlefield 2 have received a facelift, including Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula.
  • Physical Warfare Pack: a set of three weapons, the Type 88 light machinegun with bipod mount; the SKS sniper rifle flash suppressor, an extra stealth measure for Recon soldiers; and flechette ammo for the DAO-12 semi-auto shotgun, which is the last thing you’d want poiting straight at your face during close encounters.
  • SPECACT Kit: eight additional multiplayer skins, one for each class.
  • Dog tag Pack: dog tags will serve as the game’s multiplayer signature, and this pack adds another five unique designs to choose from.

Best Buy is Looking to Put Gamestop Out of Business

My daughter works for Best Buy and she informed me that her store was going big on Gaming, devoting an entire section of their showroom to Gamers. It looks like they take back used games for trade-in or a Best Buy gift card.

From Dualshockers.com:

"In this new area of the store, Best Buy will be placing “specialists” who will know a thing or two about games. They’re going as far as hiring “gaming supervisors” who will be designated to oversee the new section in each of their stores. We’ve already seen somewhat of a gaming push in Best Buy stores as of late with some locations going as far as installing DLC kiosks and others being involved in used game sales for some time now.

The retailer will now be jumping into the used hardware business, as well. They’ll be offering more incentive and higher trade in values than GameStop for your used games and hardware offering either cash back or  the option of an additional 20% kick back if you decide to take a Best Buy gift card instead, which can be spent on anything else in the store. Hopefully something like this can actually help bring some serious competition to the used games market, and in turn bring trade values up in favor of the consumers instead of the other way around.

Will you got to Best Buy instead of Gamestop?
