Bodycount Shooter Fails to Justify Its Own Existence

    "There is absolutely no cohesion to this Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game, released on Tuesday. None of the ideas come together to create an experience that feels unique or distinct from other, better games already available or coming soon. Every moment I spent with Bodycount felt like an obligation."
    He goes on in his review to slam Bodycount hard;
    "When you die, and the game’s inability to accurately convey how much damage you’re taking means you’ll die often, the screen says “ASSET EXPIRED.” Your character is completely faceless. You have nothing invested in the fights you’re in, and the ugly, repetitive environments and unsatisfying gunfights don’t give you a single reason to want to continue. I did not make it far in this game, because one day I will die, and I refuse to go out thinking I spent one second more than I had to playing Bodycount."
    I guess I won't be wasting my money on this POS game.

    Battlefield 3 Limited Edition Details Revealed

    Battlefield 3 Limited Edition details revealed!

    Battlefield-3-D-EA-600x250

    In what has become an increasingly common trend by EA, gamers who preorder Battlefield 3 will be automatically upgraded to a “limited edition” of the game full of in-game goodies (like anyone in their right mind needed extra incentives to buy this on release day). By preordering the game at select retailers, players can expect redeemable codes for:
    • Back to Karkand expansion: four multiplayer maps from Battlefield 2 have received a facelift, including Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula.
    • Physical Warfare Pack: a set of three weapons, the Type 88 light machinegun with bipod mount; the SKS sniper rifle flash suppressor, an extra stealth measure for Recon soldiers; and flechette ammo for the DAO-12 semi-auto shotgun, which is the last thing you’d want poiting straight at your face during close encounters.
    • SPECACT Kit: eight additional multiplayer skins, one for each class.
    • Dog tag Pack: dog tags will serve as the game’s multiplayer signature, and this pack adds another five unique designs to choose from.

    Battleblog #3: With An Army By Your Side

    Looks interesting. Here is the latest news on the "social-network" aspect of BF3:

    From the Battleblog:

    Never go into battle alone again thanks to the powerful new community features of Battlelog, Battlefield 3’s unique no-cost social network. “We want to make Battlefield 3 a more social gaming experience and it all starts with Battlelog,” says Fredrik Loving, Battlelog Producer at DICE. “We are changing how you communicate, play, compete and share content with their friends, extending the in-game experience to be accessible from your home computer, on your handheld devices while commuting, or wherever you may be." And that’s what DICE set out to do.

    Included in Battlelog is the Battlefeed, your entry point to this new program. The Battlefeed is your main window into Battlelog, showing current events around your network in real-time, giving you a live snapshot of what those in your network are doing in the world of Battlefield. “The feed will encourage people to play even more,” explains Loving. “They will see their friends ranking up, receiving awards they don’t have yet, or getting the new cool guns they have been missing. It will increase the competitive edge. Everything you do on the battlefield is shared amongst your friends.”

    Again, here is the link to the story.

    My thoughts on the "No-Life" Tryhards Vs. the "1st Prestige" Tryhards

    I was on-line last night playing Blackops with the EAZY clan, my boys; Killadilla10, Srog35, and others when an opposing 1st prestige Level 50 called our Clan a bunch of "no-lifes". I tried to figure what this "no-life" status means since most of our Clan games are played between 6 pm and 11 pm Central Time--and not every night. I work full-time for the Feds and go to school for my Masters Degree in Public Policy & Administration. I have kids and cats and a wife and really don't feel like I have "no-life".

    I am a casual gamer but recently started uploading videos and commentary to Youtube. I also started this gaming blog. I am definitely a "try-hard" at whatever I do and I take being called that name as a compliment. It seems like the online MP Call of Duty community just loves to call people names.

    I have been in lobbies and have been called a N*&^)#, asshole, Mf'er, try-hard, no-lifer, etc. The list goes on and on. The lobbies can get really racist and downright hateful. I just blow it off and don't really care what someone calls me. Why do players do this? I have 2 theories; first, the anonymity of online lobbies or chat rooms (where no one gives their real name) and second, there are no real consequences for bad behavior.

    I was turned on to the online multiplayer experience in MW2 by my oldest daughter's boyfriend and have been hooked every since. I have 15 days logged in Blackops alone and I still have a life! It is my opinion that the 1st prestiger wanna-be try-hards are just not that good at the game and lash out at higher ranking players because they are jealous.

    What do you think? I would love to hear if you agree or disagree?

    Battlefield 3's "Dice" engine to finally show off PS3's true capability??

    Executive producer Patrick Bach says PS3 version will be very close to PC 60 FPS. Do you believe him? I have been waiting for the PS3 to be fully utilized by a Game developer and maybe the time has come. The PS3 hardware really does outperform the XBOX as far as capability and processing but it has never been challenged so far by any developer. I look forward to BF3..what about you? Do you think the PS3 will finally get to show off it's capability?--Tango Down (TC)

    Sony Executive Howard Stringer asked by Shareholder to Resign

    It looks like Sony is going to see a major leadership change...soon. According to Pete Davidson writing for Gamepro.com who got the story from Reuters:

    "During a recent shareholders' meeting, Sony CEO was discussing the PSN hack and Sony's handling of the situation when a shareholder asked him to step down. The request was made with a view to allowing the company to make a fresh start following what is widely believed to be the biggest security breach in the history of the Internet", reports Reuters.

    Looks like someone is going to sacrificed to appease the shareholder's and why not? It was a BIG screw-up!

    Introducing the Call Of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E.)

    From the C.O.D.E. website;

    "In addition to trying to find jobs for veterans, we’re committed to honoring our service members and we want to help keep their spirits high when they return home from action.   With that in mind, we were thrilled to support a recent event driven by the USO of Metropolitan Washington, which was a unique way for service members to get together and show off their skills playing Activision’s Call of Duty®: Black Ops!"

    Support this. Good job Activision.

    New Call of Duty:Black Ops Map Pack on 06-28-2011 for XBOX

    From what the comments look like on You Tube maybe Treyarch & Activision should pick a new song. "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones is a classic song but they could change it up a little. Right?
